As of today, the fines for the illegal modification of vehicle exhaust system has increased.

Effective immediately, the fines for modifying an exhaust system to make it louder increases from $20 to $100 dollars to $250 to $1000 dollars.

The new fine structure is in line with other jurisdictions according to Service NL.

The fines apply to all vehicles including motorcycles, which operate on roadways in the province.
