MusicNL has kicked off Music Week with a brand new Instrumental Connections Program funded by the provincial government.
The program matches newcomers and graduates with local employers and community leaders. The announcement was made in Corner Brook this morning and featured performances by a number of local musicians, including guitarist Nandimal Harath who previously played in a band in Sri Lanka.
The singer, songwriter and composer came to Corner Brook where his wife is working on her Master’s degree at Grenfell Campus.
Incoming Chair of MusicNL Nigel Jenkins says connecting performers in the music sector with the local community has proven invaluable to artists.
The program is part of a larger National Connector Program which has spread to 35 cities across the country.
