Residents of the Deer Lake area, and those who have passed through Deer Lake airport between Friday November 19th and Monday, November 22nd are being asked to get tested if they develop symptoms of COVID-19.
The advisory comes after COVID-19 was detected in the Deer Lake wastewater system.
Officials have been collecting wastewater samples for early signs of COVID-19 in a number of communities across the province.
To date, 216 wastewater samples have been collected from St. John’s, Paradise, CBS, Gander, Torbay, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Clarenville, Deer Lake, Corner Brook, Stephenville, Lab City, and Wabush. Of those samples, four have tested positive for COVID-19.
