The Town of Deer Lake is warning area residents of a controlled spill this afternoon at Grand Lake.
The release of water is necessary to address high reservoir levels caused by above-average rainfall and snowmelt over the course of the winter months.
Water will be released over Main Dam, down Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River starting this afternoon.
Residents will notice higher than normal water levels and flow rates over that period and are being asked to use caution.
