A man is facing a long list of charges following an alleged kidnapping in the metro region.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called on Monday around 8 a.m. to reports of a woman in distress at a business on Thorburn Road.
The woman, who believe was taken against her will from a home in Mount Pearl, was found a short time later.
The woman’s partner, a 28-year-old man, is facing numerous charges including kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.

- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

- Breaching a Probation Order
The investigation is ongoing, and police are in the process of tracking the movements of a white 2019 Subaru Impreza hatchback with a license plate number JJW 647.
The vehicle has a black front bumper, which is damaged.
The vehicle is believed to have been driving around the metro area from midnight to just after 12:30 on Monday.
Investigators are also hoping to speak with people who were at the Thorburn Road Tim Horton’s around 9:30 Monday morning.
