It was the second-longest standing ovation in Montreal Canadiens history as the team, fans and city honoured the great Guy Lafleur, who died on Friday.
Fans cheered for 10 minutes and 10 seconds prior to the Boston game last night at the Bell Centre. One of those in attendance was VOCM’s Noah Sheppard, attending his third game at the facility.
He says the atmosphere was electric and that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the time fans sat down. Boston won the game, but Noah says that was immaterial to most.
Normally, people are walking in right up until puck drop, but last night seats were filled a half-hour before game time.
