Memorial University is the first in Canada to launch a legal street art wall.
The wall, located at the east end of the MUN campus between Cluett Hall, Macpherson College, and the Childcare Centre is approximately 10 feet high and 60 feet long.
The wall, which will be self-regulated and managed by the community, is open to all artists of all skill levels and will allow murals, street art tagging, and painting.
Twice a year artists will be commissioned to create a mural on the wall. A public call for mural proposals was recently made, and information on a second call for submissions will be shared when available.
Benjamin Moore Paint Shop is sponsoring the project by providing the paint.
