More than $150,000 was raised Sunday during the VOCM Cares Foundation’s Radiothon in aid of the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation.
Money raised during the four-hour event will go toward purchasing critical equipment, as well as garden upgrades for the US Memorial facility in St. Lawrence and improvements to the dining room at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank.
The radiothon was hosted by VOCM’s Claudette Barnes and co-host Gary Myles, with a grand total of $154,755 raised.
Sponsors included Appleby Picco Law, St. Lawrence Pharmacy and Alyward’s Home Hardware. Tim Hortons and Pizza Delight in Marystown donated meals.
