The Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs in Newfoundland and Labrador is advocating to the federal government for better access to French immersion.
Yesterday was Provincial Francophonie Day.
Minister Sarah Stoodley, who did French immersion in school, believes that knowing French is “incredibly important.”
She says one option could be funding for bussing to bring students outside French immersion zones to French immersion schools. As well, they’re looking for increased support for recruiting French teachers.
