St. John’s City Council has given the green light to the construction of a second-storey deck attached to O’Reilly’s Irish Newfoundland Pub on George Street.
This construction plan includes replacing the existing awning sign with the deck, replacing the second-storey windows with doors leading to the deck, and adding pot lights under the deck to light the patio on the ground floor.
Councillor Maggie Burton believes the changes will be positive for the George Street area.
Burton says that the panel feels as though having more outdoor spaces on George Street will help animate the street and make it a better living space.
