A 20-year-old man who was wanted by police has been arrested following an unusual incident in Shearstown on the weekend.
RCMP received a call around 9:15 in the morning about a vehicle parked at a business in the community with the engine running. Two men were inside the vehicle, apparently asleep.
Officers located Brady Parsons, wanted on an outstanding warrant, sitting in the driver’s seat and showing signs of drug impairment.
Police say drug paraphernalia and residue was noticed inside the vehicle. Parsons was arrested for drug-impaired driving and for failing to attend court in relation to two separate charges of prohibited driving.
Parsons appeared in court on charges of failing to comply with a release order, operating a vehicle without a licence, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Police say blood samples were obtained at the hospital and further charges are possible.
