The Fitz’s Cold Beer sign that adorned John “Otis” Fitzpatrick’s west end St. John’s business for decades has a new home in Mount Pearl.
Landwash Brewery was the successful bidder at $4,300, all of which will be donated to the local Cancer Care Foundation.
Sixty-six-year-old Fitzpatrick passed away last year from cancer, bringing an end to a 45-year business legacy.
John’s daughter Angie says she’s thrilled the auction went so well, and that the proceeds are going to a cause near and dear to their hearts.
Even more money was raised for the Cancer Care Foundation through the attention created by the auction.
