The MHA for Conception Bay East-Bell Island remains hopeful that efforts to secure a well-known and well-respected family physician back to Bell Island will meet with success.
Over the course of a single year the community went from four family physicians to none.
Dr. Faris Ayar returned to practice on Bell Island on a locum when the community launched a campaign to woo him back, but his decision to stay will rely on more than good will from the community, according to MHA, Opposition Leader David Brazil.
He says it depends if Eastern Health can provide the physician a good work/life balance.
