A car crashed through Fogtown Barber Shop in downtown St. John’s on Sunday.
It happened shortly after noon, when a white SUV went out of control, striking another car before smashing through the front window of the business.
The vehicle ended up completely inside the shop.
Captain Ron Pomeroy with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department suggested a medical emergency may have been the cause, adding injuries appeared to be of a minor nature.
Fogtown co-owner Chris Evans says it’s fortunate the shop was closed at the time and no one was inside.
Despite the damage, he maintains a positive outlook.
“It’s just a little hiccup,” says Evans, who believes such occurrences will become part of Fogtown’s legacy.
He says the business, which has been around for 10 years, is resilient, noting they went through a similar situation in January when a vehicle crashed into the side of the building.

The shop will remain closed while repairs are made, but Evans is hopeful they’ll be back in business soon, adding he’s looking for a temporary, alternate location on Water Street.
