A Labrador MHA is excited to see the completion of the paving of the Trans-Labrador Highway, but says work to connect Labrador is far from over.
The highway was first announced in 1973, with governments carrying out some aspects of the project since then. The last lick of pavement was laid yesterday.
Labrador West MHA Jordan Brown says the scale of the project has been massive.

He says an estimated $1 billion has been put into the road since 1997. He calls it a “mega project” that people didn’t even know was happening.
While the paving being completed is a major step, Brown says the work shouldn’t stop there. He says there hasn’t been a single shovel of dirt turned to connect Northern Labrador. He says the highway is not complete until it hits Nain.
