Some positive news for the residents of Bonavista as it looks as though their emergency room will be staffed for most days this month.

Health Minister Tom Osborne says he has been informed by Eastern Health that the majority of shifts have been covered, and they are working on covering the remaining three or four days.

Rallies have been happening regularly throughout the region due to the closures.

Osborne acknowledges that while the news will come as a relief for Bonavista residents other areas are struggling as well.

He says the department is focused on the diversions happening in other areas too. For example, he recently spoke with the mayor of New Wes Valley and committed to being focused on addressing the closures there.
