The town of Wabana on Bell Island has a new fire truck mere days after its old one was destroyed while fighting forest fires last week.
Town manager Jordon Blackwood says it was a “terrible loss” for the community.
Mayor Joe Brewer of Southern Harbour and the Southern Harbour Volunteer Fire Department stepped up to donate a pumper truck that they no longer have use for to the town.
Blackwood says he is at a loss for words, noting that the kind act could be a reason lives are saved.
