One person was taken to hospital after police say a vehicle cracked off a power pole and hit a parked vehicle in St. John’s overnight.

The incident happened just after 2:30 a.m.

Police say power to the east end neighbourhood was knocked out for a time as a result. It has since been restored.

The driver was taken to hospital but was later released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
