A 25-year-old Marystown man is facing multiple charges, including a charge of abduction after he allegedly took a young person to St. John’s without the consent of the child’s family.

The RNC located the young person and the accused in St. John’s. The child was unharmed and was returned to his family.

The accused has been charged with abduction of a person under the age of 14, luring a child, and uttering threats.

He was released on a number of conditions and is scheduled to return to court in October. Police say the accused was known to the family and there is no risk to the general public.
