The Board of Trade has a proposal into the province that they think will help with their promise to reduce red tape.

Included in the 2026 budget was a promise to establish a Red Tape Reduction Office.

CEO AnnMarie Boudreau argues that the term “red tape” is very vague, so to first address red tape they need to find concrete examples of what and where it is.

She says they have put a proposal in to government whereby they would go in to communities and talk with business owners to find out what they think the biggest barriers are for them. From that they can create a list of examples of red tape that government can then tackle.
