Canada Post confirms that asbestos has been found in the walls of their building in St. Mary’s, but says there is no health risk to employees or customers.
The issue was found as part of routine testing before fixing a leaky window.
Canada Post says remediation of the asbestos will take place before any further repairs begin. The work is expected to begin in the coming weeks, and will take place after hours so there is no impact on services.
