The province is reminding drivers on the highway to make sure their loads are properly covered and secured.
Cargo Securement Regulations fall under the Highway Traffic Act and outline the regulations surrounding the transport of cargo, debris or trash on a public roadway.
When moving cargo of any kind, it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure loads are properly secured so that flying debris doesn’t cause a hazard to other drivers.
Failing to comply with the regulations can result in a range of penalties including fines ranging from $120 to $600 dollars.
