The City of St. John’s recognized National Child Day with the winners of this year’s ‘Meet the Mayor’ contest.
9-year-old Sophia Bishop and 10-year-old Jaden Drover had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at city facilities as well as the chance to meet with mayor Danny Breen.

Bishop says they got to visit the city depot and take a ride on the salt truck while learning how the city operates during the winter months.
After touring city facilities and spending time with the mayor, the two students from Roncalli Elementary and Cowan Heights Elementary got the chance to attend the weekly council meeting and sign the National Child Day proclamation.
