The Herder is back.
The championship senior hockey series will return this season as a provincial championship between the winners of the Avalon East and West Coast senior hockey leagues.
Senior and Adult Council Chair with Hockey NL, Gary Gale is delighted that the Herder will be a showdown between the top team in both leagues.
He says while more logistics need to be worked out, he believes the championships will be well received by fans.
The West Coast Senior Hockey League has been seeing huge turnouts since it’s return this season.
The Herder, which has a long and storied history dating back to 1935, is set for this April. Final details to be announced in the coming weeks.
