Condolences are pouring in for two police officers killed in the line of duty just after midnight Wednesday.
The officers have been identified as 35-year-old Constable Travis Jordan and 30-year-old Constable Brett Ryan.
They were responding to a family dispute at an apartment building in northwest Edmonton. Canadian Press is reporting that a 16-year-old boy wounded his mother, then died of self-inflicted wounds.
The police chief says neither officer had a chance to discharge his firearm.
RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador say their hearts are with the families and friends of the fallen officers. RNC also send deepest condolences and say they stand with their colleagues in Edmonton.
Hockey NL is also sending messages of support as Cst. Ryan was a hockey official.
Our deepest condolences to our colleagues at @Edmontonpolice, and to the family and friends of the officers killed while serving the community.
