Winter is going to hang around for a while on parts of the island and Labrador.
It becomes snowy and windy in southwestern Newfoundland tomorrow afternoon but it’s central and northern Labrador which will really get it.
The Upper Lake Melville region and the north coast could see 30 to 40 cm this weekend with parts of the west coast and Northern Peninsula in for lesser amounts of snow, maybe even rain, but very high winds.
Wanda Batten, meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says it will be a fast-moving system for most.
She wouldn’t be surprised to see a Wreckhouse wind warning Saturday evening.
Marine Atlantic is cautioning of potential disruptions in ferry crossing Saturday night, Sunday and Monday.
