The Brad Gushue rink will begin its quest to the World Curling Championship this afternoon.
Gushue’s rink, playing as Team Canada, will take on Switzerland in the opening match in Ottawa.
This will be Gushue’s fourth appearance at the World Championship. In their last appearance, Gushue’s rink fell 8-6 in the final against Niklas Edin and Team Sweden.
Skip Brad Gushue says other teams have an advantage Canada doesn’t.
He says other teams often know well in advance that they will be playing in the tournament, but Canada only gets about two weeks to prepare, which doesn’t allow much time for rest or recovery. Still, he says that doesn’t take anything away from how good those teams are.
Team Canada hits the ice this afternoon at 3:30 island time.
