The provincial government has awarded the contract for some significant upgrades to Dorset Collegiate on Pilley’s Island.
The $956,000 contract has been awarded to Allnorth Consultants for engineering and architectural services related to the extension and redevelopment of the school.
Currently, the school houses grade 7-12 students, but the renovations will see it upgrade to include all grades from kindergarten right up through.
That means all students in the area will be consolidated into one school, resulting in the closure of Green Bay South Academy in Robert’s Arm and Brian Peckford Primary in Triton.
The provincial government expects construction to begin later this year.
