The provincial government is expanding eligibility for come home year incentives to attract health care workers to Newfoundland and Labrador.
Government says that 79 people have accepted offers from Come Home Year incentives, to the tune of about $5.16 million.
Health Minister Tom Osborne says because of that success they are now extending that program to include registered midwives.

Now, workers who have ties to this province can receive a $50,000 incentive for a three-year return in service. Similarly, those without ties to the province can receive a $25,000 incentive.
As well, incentives for radiation therapists have also increased to $60,000 for those with ties to the province, and $30,000 for those without. In all cases there is a three-year return in service requirement.
This is the second time this year government has expanded the Come Home year incentive program, with other changes being announced in January.
