A 19-year-old man has been charged following an accident in Bay Roberts last night that has left the driver of a dirt bike in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in Barracks Road.
According to the RCMP, a car struck a dirt bike that was crossing the road, causing the driver to be thrown from the bike.
The driver of the car fled the scene.
A short time later, police say 19-year-old Brady Butler turned himself in, and has been charged for his alleged involvement in the accident.
He been charged with failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm, operating a vehicle without insurance and failure to notify transfer of ownership.
He has been released to appear in court at a later date.
