The provincial government is seeking proposals for the detailed design of a new health and housing hub for Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The new space will look to have emergency and transitional housing under the same roof as mental health and addictions supports. The preliminary design for the new facility includes 30 overnight emergency shelter beds, 20 transitional beds and 20 self-contained supportive housing units.
The proposed location for the hub is 264 Hamilton River Road.
Support for the vulnerable population in Labrador has been stretched thin in recent years. The Hub will hope to address those needs with expanded services and adequate staffing.
