A 19-year-old Pouch Cove man has been charged with dangerous driving after a collision earlier this week left another driver with serious injuries.

Just after 6:30 Tuesday evening, first responders were called to the scene of two vehicle collision on Torbay Road near the Pine Line intersection.

They say a northbound black sedan collided with a red SUV turning on to Torbay Road.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries. The driver of the sedan was also taken to hospital.

An investigation by the RNC determined that the sedan was travelling on Torbay Road at a speed of 130 km/h in the seconds prior to the collision.

The 19-year-old driver of the sedan has been charged with dangerous operation. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
