There will be four names on the ballot in the upcoming by-election for the district of Conception Bay East-Bell Island.
Nominations closed on Sunday, with four people vying to fill the seat left vacant by former PC Leader David Brazil.
Three candidates had already announced their intentions to run last month—advocate for the deaf community, Kim Churchill is running for the NDP, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s councillor Tina Neary gets the nod for the PCs, and former broadcaster Fred Hutton is on the ballot for the Liberals.
The fourth name on the ballot is former PC District Association President and Portugal Cove-St. Philips councillor Darryl Harding, who is running independently.
Residents will head to the polls on January 29. Advance polling will be open a week prior on January 22.
