The CEO of the St. John’s Board of Trade says a merger with the NL Employers’ Council will encourage collaboration with chambers of commerce across the province.
AnnMarie Boudreau says the board always had a province-wide focus, noting that the move to become the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Trade aligns with their values.
“The advocacy work that we do, we are often bringing forward to government and policy makers on behalf of the business community. They are provincial in reach and in scope,” she said.
Boudreau says the board won’t be taking over or competing with local chambers of commerce across the province. Instead, she says they’ll be working alongside them.
