Team Canada, represented by Brad Gushue’s St. John’s rink, is into the playoffs at the World Curling Championship in Switzerland.
Canada defeated rival Norway 7-4 this morning to improve its record to 8-1.
That’s good for second place behind 9-0 Sweden, which also won this morning to remain undefeated.

That sets up a key match this afternoon between those top two teams, which will go a long way to determining playoff placings.
The Canada-Sweden game is set for 2:30 p.m. Newfoundland time.
Gushue, meanwhile, leads all skips with the best percentage so far at the event — 89.9 percent — while Mark Nichols leads all thirds with 91.1 per cent.
Making the playoffs also secures a place for the Gushue rink in next year’s Canadian Olympic curling trials in Halifax.
