A recent Angus Reid survey shows that measures announced in the 2024 federal budget targeting younger voters have failed to result in any substantial change in how they will vote.
That’s due in part to a general consensus that the measures taken will not improve the rising cost of living, the survey concludes.
Angus Reid has the Conservatives leading the Liberals by a margin of nearly two to one, or 43 per cent versus 23 per cent, with the NDP a not-too-distant third at 19 per cent.
While a number of budget measures involving Pharmacare and dental care were popular among those asked, many Canadians don’t believe the budget will improve their personal financial situation, the economy, or the housing crisis.
