The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is still on the scene, knocking down a four-alarm fire in Donovan’s Industrial Park in Mount Pearl.
Platoon Chief with ‘B’ Division, Michael Hall says a city worker discovered the blaze, noticing smoke and flame coming from the eaves of the warehouse on Dundee Avenue around 5:15 this morning.
Crews arrived to heavy fire and smoke and Hall says they hope to have the fire under control by the lunch hour.
The Cactus Ship Repair warehouse contained a number of chemicals and materials that posed a particular concern for firefighters.

Crews with St. John’s Regional are currently on the scene of a major blaze in Donovans Industrial Park.
The fire broke out at the commercial property on Dundee Avenue just before 5 a.m.
Plumes of thick black smoke has compromised visibility in the area.
Dundee Road is currently closed while first responders work to get the blaze under control.
