It appears two men charged in the aftermath of a fatal collision on Peacekeepers Way will be tried together.
The crash on June 7, 2022, claimed the life of 56-year-old Duane Hutchings.
He was the driver of a Toyota Corolla that was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by 30-year-old Sam Tessier.
Tessier and 61-year-old mechanic and garage owner Cecil Walsh each face a single count of criminal negligence causing death.
That’s linked to mechanical problems that allegedly caused the crash.
The combined Supreme Court trial with judge and jury is tentatively set for mid-May.
Walsh faces an additional 78 related charges, including fraud, forgery and assault, which will be dealt with separately in provincial court.
A third man, 69-year-old Terry Barry, admitted forging inspection documents and got a suspended sentence with a year of probation for the lesser role he played.
