The Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League is paying tribute to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment as the new St. John’s team unveiled it’s name and logo this afternoon.
The logo for the Newfoundland Regiment features a fierce-looking woodland caribou that Glenn Stanford says embodies the values of courage, unity and resilience, while paying homage to the “incredible legacy” left by Newfoundland and Labrador’s brave soldiers in World Wars I and II.
The team will hit the ice for its inaugural season this fall at the Mary Brown’s Centre in St. John’s.
And there it is the Regiment we are. pic.twitter.com/TcVyMfvASi
