The provincial government is moving on to the next steps of getting a new K-12 school constructed in Cartwright.
A tender has been issued for the construction of the new school, which will replace the 56-year-old Henry Gordon Academy.
The tender for the new facility involves a single contract that involves three phases.
The first is the abatement and demolition of the existing school.
The second involves the construction of the new school – including housing for teachers, a community library, pre-kindergarten space, and gym.
The last part of the contract is the development of a new parking lot and sports field in the area of the old school.
The tender will close on March 4.
