Talks for the first ever union contract for workers at The Gathering Place have stalled, and are heading to concilliation, according to CUPE.
The union consists of social workers, dental assistants, guest support and empowerment staff, and administrative, kitchen, and maintenance workers.
Debbie Turner, a national representative with CUPE, says providing exceptional service is a goal that both the employer and workers share, and she feels that concilliation will help move things forward.
