A Canadian Armed Forces Cormorant helicopter was called in to assist with a patient who needed to be transferred to the Health Sciences earlier this week.

In a statement to VOCM News, the Armed Forces say they were contacted just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday to bring a patient from Francois, an outport on the southwest coast of the island, to the HSC in St. John’s.

The crew had to fly in “difficult conditions” but the patient was transferred successfully.
