A Newfoundland man charged in connection with the murder of a young pregnant woman in Toronto 26 years ago is in the set date phase of the court process.
Ronald Ackerman of Gander was arrested and charged through genetic genealogy, which matched Ackerman to DNA found at the crime scene.
Donna Oglive’s body was found in a parking lot on Carlton Street in Toronto on March 8, 1998.
Ackerman is charged with first-degree murder, and while Toronto Police are combing through other unsolved cases, they say there is no further news to report at this time.
In the meantime, Ackerman and his defence team are in the process of getting disclosure as they decide their next steps.
