People across the province are being asked to wear red on Wednesday in support of Red Shirt Day — a national movement to promote accessibility and inclusion for Canadians of all abilities.
National AccessAbility Week runs from May 25 to 31.
The initiative, led by Easter Seals, is held annually on the Wednesday of National Access Ability Week.
Red Shirt Day encourages Canadians to wear red to show their support for people living with disabilities.
Participants are asked to take a photo wearing red, make a pledge, and post it online using the hashtags #RedShirtDay and #RedForAccessAbility.
Easter Seals NL Ambassador Rhea Stark says wearing red shows that you care.
Created in 2019, Red Shirt Day is part of a broader campaign to break down barriers across communities.
