A man driving a stolen car on Pitts Memorial early this morning led police on a wild goose chase which eventually led to his arrest.

RNC attempted to haul the car over around 3 a.m., but the driver hit the gas instead.

Officers then tracked the car to a parking lot in Mount Pearl where the driver got out and took off on foot.

The K9 unit was brought in and led officers to the suspect.

The 31-year-old is facing charges of dangerous driving, flight from police, and possession of property obtained by crime.

He was held for court.
