Plans are underway for a Trail of the Caribou pilgrimage next year to mark the 110th anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel.
The trip will pass through France, Belgium, England, and Turkey—following in the footsteps of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during World War I.
The trip is being scheduled for June and July of next year, with a limit of 44 participants.
Retired Major Michael Pretty, the president and founder of the Trail of the Caribou Research Group, will accompany the group as a historian.
An information session on the trip is happening tonight at 7 p.m. at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre.
