The fire ban in place for the northeast Avalon remains in effect until this coming Monday.
The St. John’s Regional Fire Department says the ban for St. John’s, Mount Pearl and Paradise will be re-evaluated at that time. The ban is being extended through the weekend in Portugal Cove-St. Philips and C.B.S. as well.
The ban includes the use of firepits, chimineas, charcoal BBQs and open fires, although propane firepits and barbecues are allowed.
