The provincial government is owed $13.7 million from companies leasing Crown land for wind to hydrogen development.
Minister Steve Crocker says the province received $5.5 million in Crown land wind reserve fees in 2023, which was paid in full.
In 2024 the province received $8.4 million in Crown land reserve fees. The total amount that should have been paid during that period is $22.1 million.
The province has not written off any outstanding Crown land reserve fees and expects to collect all revenue owing for those fees.
Last week Minister Crocker indicated that the province remains optimistic about the province’s wind-powered hydrogen potential, but admits the industry is not progressing as quickly as some had hoped.
