Prime Minister Mark Carney acknowledged the forest fires burning in Newfoundland and Labrador as he met with members of the Council of the Federation today in Huntsville, Ontario.
Carney opened his public remarks by acknowledging Premier John Hogan as the province battles two especially problematic fires.
“Our hearts go out to those affected, literally across this country,” says Carney.
He says he’s pleased to see the level of cooperation, not only among provinces, but also with seven separate federal government agencies in addressing wildfires across the country.
