A local music promoter says a lot of work went into bringing husband and wife music superstars Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to the Churchill Park Music Festival this weekend.
Pete Quinton of Mighty Quinton Concerts says even though the country and pop music performers are a couple, they are represented by different agencies and securing Stefani wasn’t a given even after Shelton was booked.
“They were two separate offers, two separate agencies. Blake is with one agency and Gwen is with a totally different agency, so it was not coordinated under the same umbrella, but it did work out and I’m happy that both our shows are going to be amazing.”
The festival begins today, with gates opening at 4:00 and the first bands taking the field at 5:00. Tonight’s headliner is Def Leppard while Blake Shelton will headline Saturday night with with the band Lights opening for Gwen Stefani on Sunday night.
The four day festival wraps up on Tuesday featuring The Killers.
